A detailed look at TC vaping, an experience you are missing out on.

Welcome to the world of Temperature Control or TC vaping. If you have ever used a vaping device, but didn’t like how the cotton burnt when you were low on juice or thought that the hits seemed strange compared to smoking; rocking a temperature control mod might be the style for you.

So what is temperature control vaping?

In most devices, you can increase or decrease the wattage to determine how much power the vape will have when you hit it. With a temperature control mod, like the TC 60, you select the actual temperature that you want the vapor to be in F° or C°.

How does this work?

Different metals respond differently to electricity at different temperatures. Like most vape mods, a TC vape can sense the resistance of the metal inside of the atomizer. At room temperature, the metal will have a different resistance than when it is heated. When you press the fire button on your mod, the atomizer will heat up and then the resistance will change. A TC mod will measure the resistance to determine the correct temperature and then increase or decrease power automatically to maintain your desired temperature. The mod does all the work for you.

What are the advantages of temperature control?

The biggest advantage is fewer burnt hits. When you burn your atomizer because you let the ejuice level get too low, the unpleasant burnt flavor comes from the coil getting too hot without ejuice to keep it cool. A temperature control vape will sense that the atomizer is getting too hot and reduce power before you get that really gross burnt taste. Another big advantage is that you will save money by not burning atomizers so regularly. TC will not eliminate every dry hit but will protect you from really nasty ones, allowing your atomizers to last longer.

Is it difficult to use?

Not at all. There are a few extra steps before you use it, but after that, you can just vape it. When you first put in a new atomizer, the device will read the resistance instantaneously. While the atomizer is still at room temperature, you need to “lock” the resistance. On the TC60, this is done by pressing both the up and down buttons at the same time. Once the resistance is locked, the device now knows what the baseline is. After that, just select what temperature you like and vape away.

What is it like to vape a TC mod?

It feels more like smoking. If you draw really hard on a cigarette, cigar or hookah, more and hotter smoke will come out. On a TC mod, if you take a small puff, you get a smaller and cooler vape. If you inhale really hard, you get a big cloud. A standard vape mod will hit the atomizer with exactly the same amount of power every time you press the button, no matter how much you inhale.
